HARBISON-WALKER REFRACTORIES LTD was formed in 1998 by the amalgamation of the U.K. operation of A.P. Green Refractories and its wholly owned subsidiary Liptak Bradley.

This combined two long-established and widely-respected companies with proven expertise in the manufacture of monolithic refractories and in the installation of the entire range of refractory products (bricks and monolithics).

Whilst the company subsequently withdrew from the installation business our Engineering Support Department remains available for advice on material selection, installation procedures and mixing and using instructions.

With regard to manufacturing the recently modernised plant at Bromborough is capable of producing the full range of monolithic refractories - insulating castables, dense castables, gun mixes, low cement castables, plastics and mortars - under the well-known A.P. Green and Harbison-Walker brandings. We also have a dedicated in-house facility for pre-casting refractory shapes, including SIFCA (Slurry Infiltrated Fibre Castable) shapes manufactured under license from Wahl Refractories.

The organisation is accredited to ISO 9001:2000 standard by CICS - the Ceramic Industry Certification Scheme - with the customer base representing the broad range of
